Our Adventure called Life

I would never wish away time, wanting my kids to get bigger...but since I don't have a choice in the matter, I am embracing some of the tasks they can independently perform at 2.5 and 4.5 years old! Tasks that not only help me out but also teach them to clean up after themselves. Shoes!! Between the 4 of us we have over 100 pair of shoes floating about.  We don't wear shoes in the house and I didn't want a pile of shoes in front of our door.  I bought each child a shoe rack for their closet and they learned that once their shoes come off, they must be taken to their closet and put on their rack.  Having the racks help the shoes get exactly where they need to be and keeps them off the floor. I did straighten them up for the photo! Laundry is a never ending task at our house.  Each kid has their own laundry basket from Land of Nod that all dirty clothes get thrown in. Current temperature on the farm is a windy 40 degrees and on the rise. By tomorrow we're forecasted to be in the 60's with sun.  I'm sure winter will wrap us in her icy grip at least one more time, but for now I'm leaving the coat in my closet and trading boots for slip-ons without socks. Easter reads One of the great things about holidays is the variety of children's books that come along with them.  Today I pulled out all our Easter books and put away the Valentine books.  After a year of being in the closet the kids are excited to look at and read their "new" books.  It's also nice for Scott and I to have some new reading material to read to them.  Do you have any children's Easter stories your child loves?  I'm always looking to grow their library!! Last year on my birthday I received a gift card and decided to splurge a little on myself. I was pretty sure my tube of foundation was from 2010 and not even remotely close to my skin color.  I headed to Sephora, a place that not only sells makeup, but a place that would (hopefully) help me decide what I needed. I walked in with caution, OK, I was actually a little afraid.  I'm not one that likes to look made-up, but I wanted makeup that helped me look a little more alive.  While I wanted someone to give me a mini make over, I didn't want to walk away looking like a clown.  As I glanced between associates with multi-colored hair and wearing much more makeup then I hoped to walk away with, I swallowed my fear and approached a petite girl named Sarah.
