Pity Party for One

It’s official, I am pitiful. What started out as a scratchy throat on Monday has turned into some sort of full blown crud. For the past two nights, my dear husband has been kept awake by my coughing, sneezing, gagging, tossing and turning. Breathing through my nose has become impossible, so I have become a mouth breather. Last night a hot shower didn’t clear me up, nor did the humidifier, nor did Vicks. My husband said he was going to pick up a neti pot after work. I’ve never used one, so it should be interesting. Tomorrow I have already decided to take the day off and rest. That’s one thing I know I haven’t been getting enough of this week. It’s just so hard to sleep when you can’t breathe. This is a Neti Pot.  I will call ours Auntie Nettie In brighter news, we have a vacation coming up! Scott and I are headed to Lake Tahoe next month on our annual ski trip. This year there are about 15 people going. I’ve never skied Tahoe so I’m pretty excited to try out the runs. And last

Music has the amazing ability to stir up an old memory, put goose bumps on your arms, or maybe even bring a tear to your eye. Recently while driving home from work, I had that very thing happen. I had never heard the song before, but it basically summed up the story of a guy and girl that met in a cafĂ©. Sounds like the story of a guy named Scott and a girl named Kara to me. Bucket List for 2011

New Years bring a clean slate, a chance to start anew with limitless possibilities.   This list is in no particular order nor is it an all encompassing list.  Its purpose is to be a  reminder that it's the little moments throughout the year that make for a memorable one.  I hope this list inspires you to make the most of your little moments.  Happy 2011! 1.   Take a class. 2.   Travel to 6-12 of the various state parks in Indiana. 3.   Visit 1 of the 3 states I haven't been to. 4.   Spend our 1 year wedding anniversary outside the continental United States. 5.   Camp on the sand bar.  6.   Finish renovating 2 more rooms in our home. 7.   Blog at least once a month. 8.   Get serious about writing my book and WRITE! 9.   Paint more. 10. Finish our wedding album. 11. Finish our 2007 photo album. 12. Throw at least 1 awesome dinner party. 13. Complete the ancestry section of our family Bible. 14. Pray more. 15. Spend more time in our garden. 16. Send a card/letter
