It's been a busy month for this little sweetie!  She has become quick and efficient at crawling!  Legs and arms are now moving together like a well oiled machine.  She is also cruising!  Once she is standing up and holding on to the couch, she shuffles along.  She also can move into a standing position from the potty, although I wish she wouldn't! We had a great sleeping routin...

Her growth and awareness are more noticeable now then ever before.  She moves wit...

Season of Change

It was 2007 and I just finished cheering at a BluCats football game.  I can't remember if we won or lost, but I remember leaving the game with my parents and heading to the car lot.  My Blazer (Hunter) was on its last leg and I needed a reliable set of wheels.  Growing up I thought my dad knew a thing or two about vehicles, therefore if he said something was good, I took his advice.  As my eyes landed on a little 4-door blue/grey Honda Accord, I was sold.  Between the smooth test drive, price and low miles, my dad and I agreed we would welcome Sophia Honda Accord (yes, I name my vehicles) into the family. As I drove home in my new car that night, I had no idea that this would be the vehicle that carried me home after my first date with my future husband.  I never imagined what the backseat would look like with a car seat buckled in the back.  Much less two car seats!  As ...

A Life that's Good

Image
I couldn't have said it better myself.....One of my favorite songs     Sittin' here tonight, By the fire light, it reminds me I already have more than I should.   I don't need fame, no one to know my name, at the end of the day, Lord I pray, I have a life that's good.    Two arms around me, heaven to ground me, and a family that always calls me home, Four wheels to get there, enough love to share and a sweet sweet sweet song At the end of the day, Lord I pray , I have a life that's good.   Sometimes I'm hard on me, When dreams don't come easy, I wanna look back and say, I did all that I could, Yeah at the end of the day, Lord I pray, I have a life that's good. Two arms around me, heaven to ground me, and a family that always calls me home, Four wheels to get there, enough love to share and a sweet sweet sweet song at the end of the day, Lord I pray I have a life that's good Lik...

5 Things I'll Admit...

Image
I'm following the lead of one of my favorite bloggers (PolkaDottyPlace)!  Here are 5 things I'll admit; I question my parenting decisions daily. After being with my husband for 7 years, I can say that marriage is easier then I expected  I occasionally watch 19 Kids and Counting (The Duggers) and I like it. I have always wanted dreadlocks.  The ones that look well kept, not the nasty ones.  As I get older I find myself turning into my mother, and I'm proud of that.  Like this blog, leave a comment! Feedback makes me happy! :)

So there's this Boy....

Image
He's long and lean with little muscular legs.  His hair curls after the shower or when he sweats in his sleep.  His skin is powder white but tans quickly in the sun.  His round blue eyes dance when he laughs and can show pure mischief as he plots taking a toy from his sister.  He's the boy I prayed for as he grew in my tummy and the first person to call me mommy.   He's wonderfully independent and dependent all at the same time.  He can pick out what outfit he wants to wear, but he can't quite figure out how to get his shirt off.  He sleeps in a big boy bed, but he still lets his momma rock him at night while singing his favorite lullaby. He drives toy cars and trucks around the living room with a seriousness that makes it hard for me to keep a straight face.  He references broken carburetors, flat tires, running out of gas, and the inability to find a parking spot.  I could watch him play for hours. He loves for me to w...

Colorado Bound!!

Ready for take-off! Scott and I aren't afraid to do difficult things with small children.  Our oldest was 6 weeks old when we first took him camping.  He was 4 months old when we took him on his first plane.  So when our yearly ski group started planning our winter ski trip, we didn't hesitate to say "Count us in..."even though our entourage now includes a toddler, infant and a Nana. Packing for the 4 of us may have been the hardest part.  I was sure I would forget something critical, like my ski pants or gloves as I was focused on making sure the kids had everything they needed.  Happily, everything we needed made it in the bags. Good little traveler One necessity of going on a ski trip with our 2 littles was taking Nana along.  Scott and I both love skiing and wanted to make sure we were both able to hit the slopes.  This required someone to stay at the house with the babies.  Who better to take care of the kids than Nana (my mom). ...
